The Shaykh : What is the ruling if the deceased bequeathed that he be buried in the Noble City, when he is not a resident of it but from another country? Is that permissible for him? And is it obligatory to carry out his bequest?
Answer: It is not obligatory to carry out his bequest. The earth of Allah is vast, and the criterion is the person. If he is righteous, then in any land a door to Paradise will be opened for him. And if he is not righteous, then even if he were in the middle of al-Baqi', it would not benefit him. He says: Your son, the student, Abdullah ibn Muhammad, is here?
