What is the ruling on graves in the deserts near the villages, and what is the ruling on burying a deceased person in a place far from the cemeteries?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
There are graves in some deserts near the villages that are not in the cemeteries, and sometimes they are walled in. What is the ruling on such graves?

The Shaykh : I think that if one is certain that they are graves, because there may be something that resembles a grave but is not one, but if we are certain that they are graves, then it is obligatory to consult with the judge and the municipality. Is it better to move these graves to the cemeteries, because that is safer for them and preserves them better, or should they remain in their place? That is the matter.

The questioner : Okay, Shaykh, is it obligatory to bury the deceased in a specific cemetery? I mean, if someone dies in the desert, is it obligatory to bury them in a cemetery?

The Shaykh : Taking him to the cemetery is better because it is safer for him. For example, a person might come and take possession of this land and plow it and plant crops over the grave without knowing. So moving him to the cemeteries is much better. Yes.
