What is the ruling on placing forbidden items (such as pig arteries) in surgical operations?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : May Allah guide you and protect you, O Shaykh: A person asked me to ask you this question. He says: Heart surgeons may place a metal vein or artery, and they may also place an artery taken from a pig, even though the metal artery may cause an echo, while the artery taken from the pig is better and may fuse and become as if it were part of the person himself. What is the ruling on that?

The Shaykh : There is no harm in it; that is, there is no harm in a person connecting his heart artery to the artery of another animal, and one should look at what is most suitable for his heart, because this is not eating. Allah has forbidden eating pork, and this is not eating. And if we know that this is the only thing that will benefit him, then this falls under the category of dire necessity. And Allah the Exalted said regarding the direct eating of pork:
while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُمْ مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا اضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ
[Al-An'am 6:119]
