Ruling on traveling to a man who treats patients and performs operations without surgery
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! A man has become famous for treating diseases and performing operations without surgery. He tells people what diseases they have, and he appears to be righteous, maintaining his prayers, and he does not ask people for money. However, people have attached themselves to him. I know people from this area who want to travel to him, and he is located outside this country. What is the ruling on traveling to him, and what is your comment?
They say: The sensible person speaks of what he does not know, and if he is believed, he has no sense! We have not been informed that anyone heals the sick by Allah’s hand merely by wiping them with his hand, except for Isa (peace be upon him). So, I do not believe in this at all. And if it happens that people are tested by him, and someone goes to him and he treats him without an operation, then there are devils working for him; because it is not reasonable.Allah is the Greatest! If someone said to us: This sun is not a sun; these are bulbs, a group of them, that light up the earth. Do we agree to this? We do not agree. No person who has intellect, or the slightest bit of sanity, can believe that a man from the children of Adam is brought patients who need operations, and he treats them without surgery. Glory be to Allah, what wonders! This is what people are afflicted with today; they have come to rely on other than their Lord, Mighty and Majestic, attaching themselves to the created, and believing in what is not reasonable.
So I say to the brother who wants to travel: Do not travel, and stay in your place, and ask your Lord, Mighty and Majestic. Allah is capable of all things. How many people had their graves dug, water prepared for their washing, and shrouds brought to wrap them in, yet they did not die, because Allah is capable of all things. The One who sent down the illness is able to remove it. Unless the term has arrived, there is no benefit. What did Zakariyya say when Allah gave him the glad tidings of a child, and what did Allah say to him? [Maryam: 8] Allah said to him: [Maryam: 9] Who created you? Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is able to create a child for you. Who made you ill? Allah. The One who made you ill is able to remove the illness from you.But Allah, the Exalted, says: [Al-Talaq: 3] And His command must reach your place [Al-Talaq: 3] It may be that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has decreed that this illness is the final illness, and the supplication at that time will be for the raising of degrees. And it may be that Allah has decreed that this illness will not be removed except by the supplication of so-and-so or so-and-so, so he supplicates to Allah and is cured.
