Q2: Is the ruling on the pig exactly the same as the ruling on the dog, and is there evidence that clarifies that their rulings are the same in every respect?
A2: Their rulings are the same regarding the prohibition of eating their meat, but they differ regarding keeping them as pets. It is not permissible to keep a pig under any circumstances, nor to sell or buy it. As for the dog, it is permissible to keep it for hunting, farming, or guarding livestock. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
