Is there a specific age for hijab from children?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is there a specific age for hijab from children?

The Shaykh : There is no specific age, based on the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women أوِ الطِّفْلِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَى عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَاءِ
[An-Nur 24:31]
, so He did not specify them by a particular age. If it becomes known about this boy that he looks at women and follows women, and he comes to see the 'awrah (parts of the body that must be covered) of women, then it is obligatory to observe hijab from him. Generally, this is from ten years old and above, ten years old and above, this is the general rule. But some children are unaware of this matter and do not see the 'awrah of women, because they have not heard about it in their gatherings. And some children pay more attention to this because they talk about this matter in the gatherings, so a love of women and looking at them develops in him.
