When does the period for wiping begin?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Peace be upon you.
May Allah preserve you, O Shaykh: Is wiping over the socks from the moment one puts them on, or after one begins the ablution?

The Shaykh : Wiping over the socks begins from the first time one wipes after a state of ritual impurity, not from the time of putting them on, nor from the time of the impurity itself. For example, if a person puts them on for the Fajr prayer and does not wipe until the Fajr prayer the next day, meaning he remained in a state of purity for the entire day, and then wipes for the first time for the Fajr prayer on the second day, he wipes for a day and a night from the time of his wiping, because the time before the wiping is not counted in the period. Do you understand? Good, after that, from the right.
