What is your opinion of one who writes a verse on the door of his bookstore in a meaning other than what is intended by it, such as (it contains valuable books), or on the door of his house (enter them in peace and safety)?

The Shaykh : He says: What is your opinion of one who extracts a part of a verse for a meaning he wants that differs from the original meaning of the verse? I have seen a bookstore with
Within which are correct writings. فيها كتب قيمة
[Al-Bayyinah 98:3]
written on its door, and I have seen a house door with
[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]." ادخلوها بسلام آمنين
[Al-Hijr 15:46]
written on it?
I say: This is forbidden because the Qur'an was revealed in a meaning other than what Allah intended, and the second one as well,
[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]." ادخلوها بسلام آمنين
[Al-Hijr 15:46]
, and even the first one, the books might not be?
The student: Not valuable.

The Shaykh : Not valuable, but he might say, I did not say the books in it are valuable, I said it contains valuable books, meaning some of them. But applying the verse to a meaning other than what Allah intended is not permissible.
As for the second, it has two prohibitions. First: that he applied it to a meaning other than what Allah intended. Second: that he said "safe," and who is safe in this world? No one.
