Is it permissible to earn a livelihood through ruqyah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His EminenceThe Shaykh : Many of the Sufis, who have no knowledge, sit to perform ruqyah and earn from it. They impose a portion of money on the patient before and after the treatment. Is this action permissible on their part? And if some students of knowledge follow their example, what do we say to them?

The Shaykh : O beloved, this issue has become widespread among us, not among the Sufis and the Sufi practitioners, praise be to Allah, our country is, if Allah wills, free from this. However, earning a livelihood through ruqyah has become very widespread among us, indeed very much so, and by people whose state of uprightness Allah knows best, Allah knows best. But the believer who wants to benefit his brother, and he is the one who recites, if he is given something he takes it, and if he is not given, he does not ask. This is what causes Allah the Exalted to place a blessing in his ruqyah. As for the one who makes the Noble Qur'an a means of earning a livelihood, he has purchased the world with the deeds of the Hereafter, may Allah protect us from that, and he will have no share in the Hereafter. In reality, this issue has now reached a large scale, and it should be addressed by the authorities of the state.
