What is meant by the knowledge that benefits in the hadith: "When the son of Adam dies, his deeds are cut off except for three..."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you: His saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
When the son of Adam dies, his deeds are cut off except for a continuing charity, or knowledge that benefits إذا مات ابن آدم انقطع عمله صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به
Does this knowledge mean religious knowledge, and not worldly knowledge?

The Shaykh : It appears that the hadith is general; any knowledge that benefits brings him reward. However, the pinnacle and peak of it is religious knowledge. So if we suppose that a person dies after having taught some people a permissible craft, and the one who learned it benefits from it, then he attains reward; he is rewarded for this.
