I have shops and I want to rent them to some barbershops (hair salons). Is there any harm in that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This questioner, O esteemed Shaykh, says: I have shops and I want to rent them to some barbershops. Is there any harm in that?

The Shaykh : There is harm in that if you rent the shops to the barbers.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : It is known, according to custom, that barbers shave everything; they shave the head and they shave the beard. In fact, shaving beards is often more common for them than shaving heads. This is the custom and the norm. Therefore, it is not permissible to rent the shops to barbers unless you stipulate that they do not shave beards in them. In that case, there is no harm. If it is established that a beard was shaved in these shops, the landlord has the right to terminate the lease because the tenant violated a valid condition that he did not fulfill. This is the answer regarding renting shops for barbering, meaning that it is not permissible to rent them to barbers unless you stipulate that they do not perform forbidden shaving in them, such as shaving beards.
This is indicated by the fact that renting them out is assisting them in committing this forbidden act. And Allah the Exalted said:
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression ولا تعاونوا على الإثم والعدوان
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
And the prohibition of renting them out is indicated by the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When Allah forbids something, He forbids its price. إن الله إذا حرّم شيئا حرّم ثمنه
Sahih Ibn Hibban 26:35
The rent is the price of the benefit that the tenant obtained. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
