Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is your opinion on praying in mosques where there are, between them and the qiblah, meaning between the imam and the qiblah,

The Shaykh : graves

The questioner : Yes, graves, and between them and these graves there are barriers, either a wall or a considerable distance.

The Shaykh : Yes, if a person prays in a mosque that has a cemetery in front of it, and there is a separator, such as a street or a complete wall, such that the worshippers do not see the cemetery, then there is no harm in that. However, if it is close, directly adjacent to the mosque, and there is no wall, or there is a short wall such that the worshippers see these graves, then it is not permissible. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not pray toward graves and do not sit on them. لا تصلوا إلى القبور ولا تجلسوا عليها
Sunan an-Nasa'i 760Sahih (Darussalam)

The Shaykh : Yes

The Shaykh : ...

The questioner : Yes... so between the one who is inside the mosque courtyard and the imam, and there is a wall, is this considered close?

The Shaykh : But the mosque courtyard, meaning the wall of the mosque.

The questioner : Yes, there is a wall for the mosque.

The Shaykh : The wall of the mosque.

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : So it means the cemetery is directly adjacent to the mosque.

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : Yes, this is not permissible. They must remove it from this courtyard... the people.
