A person who loves hunting birds, and sometimes leaves his job for a week to go to the wilderness to hunt; what is the ruling on that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The brother Abdullah says in his second question: My brother is obsessed with hunting birds, where he leaves his job for a week and goes to the wilderness in search of hunting. What is the ruling on that? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for a person to abandon his obligatory job to indulge in play and hunting or anything else that prevents him from fulfilling his duty, due to the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts. يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا أَوفوا بِالعُقودِ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:1]
. The job is considered a contract between the person and the responsible authority, and due to His saying, the Exalted:
And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned. وَأَوفوا بِالعَهدِ إِنَّ العَهدَ كانَ مَسؤولًا
[Al-Isra 17:34]
. Therefore, it is obligatory for the person to perform his job according to what the system requires, just as he is entitled to the salary that is his due in full.
Many people are negligent in what is obligatory of their job work and demand all their right of the salary. This falls under the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
(1) Woe to those who give less [than due], (2) Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. (3) But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. (4) Do they not think that they will be resurrected (5) For a tremendous Day - (6) The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:1-6]
.
We ask Allah for guidance for us and for our brothers.

The questioner : O Allah, amen.

The Shaykh : And that He help us all to perform what He has made obligatory upon us. Indeed, He is capable of all things.

The questioner : O Allah, amen. May Allah bless you, O honorable Shaykh.
