Why did the scholars say that reciting Surat Yasin is done for the dying person and not for the deceased, even though the apparent meaning of the hadith is that it is for the deceased?

The questioner : His EminenceThe Shaykh : Why did the scholars mention that reciting Surat Yasin is done for the dying person and not for the deceased, even though the apparent meaning of the hadith is that it is for the deceased?

The Shaykh : First: Know that there is discussion regarding the hadith in this matter: some scholars have weakened it and said: it is not authentic, and on this basis, we are relieved of it.
And as for the opinion that the hadith is hasan (good) and that acting upon it is permissible, they said: the dying person benefits more from its recitation, I mean that the dying person benefits more from its recitation than he benefits after he dies, and it is:
With your dead على موتاكم
meaning: for those whom death has approached, and this has a point of view, because it has not been reported from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to recite for the dead after they were buried or before they were washed, rather the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered to hasten with the deceased.
