The reciter: Yahya ibn Yahya al-Tamimi narrated to us, saying: I read to Malik from Nafi' from Abdullah ibn 'Umar:
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw spittle on the wall of the qiblah, so he scraped it off. Then he turned to the people and said: "When one of you is praying, he should not spit in front of his face, for Allah is in front of his face when he prays."
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم رأى بصاقا في جدار القبلة فحكه ثم أقبل على الناس فقال : إذا كان أحدكم يصلي فلا يبصق قبل وجهه فإن الله قبل وجهه إذا صلى
