Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-‘Uthaymeen

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: I read to Malik from Nafi' from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The example of a man who has memorised the Qur'an is like that of a hobbled camel. If he remained vigilant, he would be able to retain it (with him), and if he loosened the hobbled camel it would escape. إنما مثل صاحب القرءان كمثل الإبل المعقّلة إن عاهد عليها أمسكها وإن أطلقها ذهبت
