The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer-04b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Mu'adh ibn Hisham narrated to us, my father narrated to me from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us that Abu Hurayrah narrated to them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When the call to prayer is announced, the Shaykh turns away, passing gas, until he cannot hear the adhan. When the adhan is finished, he comes back. When the iqamah is called, he turns away. When the iqamah is finished, he comes back and moves between a man and his soul, saying, "Remember this, remember that," regarding things he was not remembering, until the man does not know how many rak'ahs he prayed. So if any of you does not know how many rak'ahs he prayed, let him prostrate two prostrations while sitting.
