The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer-10a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim al-Duqni narrated to me, saying: Yahya ibn Abi Bakr narrated to us, saying: Shayban narrated to us from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umar, from Ibn 'Ammarah ibn Ru'aybah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No one who prays before the rising of the sun and before its setting will enter the Fire. A man from the people of Basra was present and said: "Did you hear this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said: "Yes, I bear witness to it against him." He said: "And I bear witness that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying it in the place where I heard it from him."
.

The Shaykh : This also contains evidence for the virtue of the Fajr prayer and the 'Asr prayer, and that no one who prays before the rising of the sun and before its setting will enter the Fire. The apparent meaning of the hadith is that there is no difference whether one prays them in congregation or alone. However, other texts indicate the obligation of congregation, and that he will not attain the complete virtue unless he does what is obligatory in the prayer, which is congregation. If someone were to say: "If a person has sins for which he deserves punishment, and Allah punishes him for them, does this contradict this hadith?" The answer is that it does not contradict it. This is because entering the Fire is divided into two categories: eternal entry, meaning abiding therein, and this will not happen to one who prays Fajr and 'Asr; and purifying entry, which may happen to one who prays Fajr and 'Asr. This falls under the category of hadiths of encouragement.
