The reciter: Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Jarir narrated to us from al-A'mash from 'Amirah ibn 'Amir from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, who said: I, my uncle 'Uqbah, and al-Aswad entered upon 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud. He said: I was a young man at that time. He mentioned a hadith which I saw was narrated for my sake. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [with a hadith similar to that of Abu Mu'awiyah, and he added:] He said: I did not wait long before I got married.
