The reader: And Ali ibn Khashram narrated to me, saying: Ibn 'Iyynah informed us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'A'ishah:
That the prayer was first prescribed as two rak'ahs, so the prayer of travel was left as it was, and the prayer of residence was completed. Al-Zuhri said: I said to 'Urwah, "Why does 'A'ishah complete the prayer while traveling?" He said: "She interpreted it as Uthman interpreted it?" أن الصلاة أول ما فرضت ركعتين فأقرّت صلاة السفر وأتمّت صلاة الحضر، قال الزهري: فقلت لعروة: ما بال عائشة تتم في السفر؟ قال: إنها تأولت كما تأول عثمان؟
