The Book of the Prayer of the Traveler and Its Shortening-01b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And 'Abdullah ibn Muslimah ibn Qa'nab narrated to us, saying: Isa ibn Hafs ibn 'Asim ibn 'Umar ibn al-Khattab narrated to us from his father, who said:
I accompanied Ibn 'Umar on the road to Makkah. He said: He prayed the midday prayer for us in two units, then he turned back and we turned back with him until he reached his camp. He sat down and we sat with him. Then he glanced toward where he had prayed and saw people standing.
, what are they doing?

The Shaykh : He said, what are they doing. He said.
The reciter:
He asked: What are they doing ? I replied: They are glorifying Allah (i.e. offering supererogatory prayer). He said: If I had offered the supererogatory prayer (while travelling), I would have completed prayer, my cousin.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1223Sahih (Al-Albani)
...

The Shaykh : We do not have the lam,
If I had offered the supererogatory prayer
Sunan Abi Dawud 1223Sahih (Al-Albani)
, be patient... . Is that right? Without the lam, and is it permissible with the affirmation? It is permissible. What is the evidence? This one has the lam, ... ?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : What is it? Yes?
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:70]
As for rubble, he said
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:65]
, so, if it is in the affirmation, if the answer is affirmative, it is permissible to affirm the lam or omit it. And if it is negative, then the lam is affirmed? The reason for this is that the lam is for affirmation, and negation contradicts affirmation. For this reason, if Zayd came, I would say "I did not see me here," and do not say "If Zayd came, I would not have seen me." If Zayd came, yes, if Zayd left me, would I have drowned or would I not have drowned? Yes, I would have drowned, based on the first one. In any case, if the negative "ma" comes, the most eloquent is to omit the lam, and it is permissible to mention it slightly, due to the saying of the poet: "And if we were given the choice, we would not have parted *** But there is no choice with the passing days".
