The Book of the Prayer of the Traveler and Its Shortening-04a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: I read to Malik from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar that Hafsah, the Mother of the Believers, informed him:
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to, when the mu'adhdhin finished the adhan for the Fajr prayer and the dawn appeared, bow down for two rak'ahs أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم كان إذا سكت المؤذّن من الأذان لصلاة الصبح وبدا الصبح ركع ركعتين
..

The Shaykh : And the dawn appeared.
The reciter: Yes,
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commenced the dawn (prayer) when it dawned by observing two short rak'ahs before the commencement of the (Fard) prayer. وبدا الصبح ركع ركعتين خفيفتين قبل أن تقام الصلاة
