Some people are strict and say that if you begin with the rites of Hajj before tawhid (the oneness of Allah), you have deviated from the methodology of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)

The questioner : People like these, if you start with them by the rites of Hajj or prayer, generally speaking, they will accept it if you then follow up with tawhid (the oneness of Allah). But some scholars, O Shaykh, are strict and say that if you begin with the rites of Hajj before tawhid (the oneness of Allah), you have deviated from the methodology of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), because when the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Mu'adh to Yemen, he said:
Let the first thing you call them to be the testimony that there is no god but Allah فليكن أول ما تدعهم إليه شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله
?

The Shaykh : You have done well, that is perfect. This is a doubt, not a proof. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Mu'adh to Yemen to a people who were polytheists, and it was known that they were upon shirk (associating partners with Allah). But these people, the Sufis and those like them, believe that they are Muslims upon a religion. So how do we go to demolish what they believe to be the religion? There is a difference between the two. I mean, if we wanted to call a people who are polytheists, we would not say, "Come, pray," because if these people prayed, it would not benefit them. But we are calling a people who say that they are Muslims. So do we come with something cold to their hearts, which they might love and become accustomed to, and then afterwards we speak about the misguidance they are upon? Or do we start with the misguidance they are upon? In my opinion, this is better: that we speak to them about what we agree upon with them. Is that clear? This is our answer to what was mentioned. Yes.

The questioner : If a woman finds no mahram (a relative one may not marry) except one?

The Shaykh : Except one mahram? We do not want more than one.

The questioner : And he refuses to accompany her in Hajj?

The Shaykh : Does he sin, meaning?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : No, he does not sin.
and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another ولا تزر وازرة وزر أخرى
[Al-An'am 6:164]
It is dropped from the woman. But the woman entices him with money, because her maintenance is her responsibility. So if she is able, she gives him the maintenance and he performs Hajj with her. Yes.
