Benefits of Jabir's Hadith with Explanation.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In this is evidence that a person names his ritual in the state of talbiyah. If he is in 'Umrah, he says: "Labbaik Allahumma 'Umrah." If he is in Hajj, he says: "Labbaik Allahumma Hajjan." And if he is in Hajj and 'Umrah, he says: "Labbaik Allahumma Hajjan wa 'Umrah." But does he repeat this with the repetition of the talbiyah, or sometimes and sometimes? The matter is broad in this, in my view. If he repeats it with every talbiyah, that is better. And if he says it sometimes, the matter is broad. Now, if someone asks: Does not Allah the Exalted say:
And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allah وأتموا الحج والعمرة لله
[Al-Baqarah 2:196]
And this is one who has entered the state of ihram for Hajj. How do we say: Convert it to 'Umrah? We say: This is part of the completion of Hajj. Because if you are in the state of ihram for Hajj, what do you get from your ritual? Only Hajj. But if you convert it to 'Umrah, you get 'Umrah and Hajj. Now, this is one point.
Second, if someone asks: And if one is in the state of ihram for Hajj and 'Umrah as a qarin, do you say that he converts it to 'Umrah so that he becomes a mutamatti'? The answer is: We say yes. If he says: Then he has not benefited from anything, because his Hajj and 'Umrah have been performed with one intention. The answer is: But the tamattu' is achieved with a complete 'Umrah and a complete Hajj. As for the qarin, his action is exactly like the action of the ifrad; it does not increase.
