Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn Kathir narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from Mansur, from Abu Wa'il, from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Feed the hungry, visit the sick and free the captive. أطعموا الجائع وعودوا المريض وفكوا العاني
Sunan Abi Dawud 3105Sahih (Al-Albani)
Sufyan said: "The captive is a prisoner."

The Shaykh : Now, regarding his saying:
Feed the hungry أطعموا الجائع
This is the point of reference: "Feed the hungry." If we are commanded to feed the hungry, then the hungry person is commanded to feed himself. Therefore, it is obligatory for the hungry person who fears death to eat. As for
visit the sick and free the captive عودوا المريض وفكوا العاني
Sunan Abi Dawud 3105Sahih (Al-Albani)
, meaning the prisoner, their meanings are clear. Yes.
