And prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on visiting the sick and accompanying the deceased: "From Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Visit the sick, feed the hungry, and (arrange for the) release of the captive.
Riyad as-Salihin 897
Al-Bukhari narrated it. And from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
When a Muslim pays a sick visit to his brother Muslim he continues to gather the fruits of paradise till he returns.
Mishkat al-Masabih 1527
It was said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the harvest of Paradise? He said:
Its fruit جناها
Muslim narrated it."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in the book *Riyad al-Salihin*, in the chapter on visiting the sick and accompanying the deceased, that Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Free the captive
meaning: the captive.
feed the hungry and pay a visit to the sick
Sahih al-Bukhari 3046
These are three things that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded. First: visiting the sick. It has been mentioned previously that visiting the sick is a collective obligation (fard kifayah) that the Muslims must fulfill by visiting their sick. If no one does so, it becomes obligatory for whoever knows of the sick person to visit him, because that is a right of the Muslim over his brothers. As for the second, he said:
Feed the hungry
So if we find a hungry person, it is obligatory for all of us to feed him, and feeding him is a collective obligation; if enough people fulfill it, it drops from the rest. If no one fulfills it, it becomes specific (obligatory) for whoever knows of his condition to feed him. Likewise, clothing the naked: if we find a person naked, it is obligatory for the Muslims to clothe him, and it is a collective obligation; if enough people fulfill it, it drops from the rest.
And free the captive
meaning: the captive. That is, free the captive who is among the disbelievers from captivity. If the disbelievers seize a Muslim man, it is obligatory for us to free him from captivity. Likewise, if they capture him in a war between them and the Muslims, it is obligatory for us to free him from captivity. Freeing the captive is a collective obligation; if enough people fulfill it, it drops from the rest. Otherwise, all of them sin. Then he mentioned the hadith of Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a Muslim visits his Muslim brother
Sahih Ibn Hibban 11:71
meaning: in his illness.
He remains in the harvest of Paradise
It was said: What is the harvest of Paradise? He said:
Its fruit جناها
meaning: that he harvests from the fruits of Paradise for as long as he remains sitting with this sick person. It has been mentioned previously that sitting with the sick varies according to circumstances and individuals. Sitting with the sick may be desirable, or it may not be. If we know that the sick person feels at ease with this man and likes him to stay longer, it is better for him to stay. If we know that the sick person likes the visitor to lighten the visit and leave, he should not stay long. Every situation has its own appropriate response. In this second hadith, there is evidence of the virtue of visiting the sick. We all love to harvest from the fruits of Paradise, and this is one of its causes. And success is from Allah.
The questioner...

The Shaykh : It is known, you say: "There is no harm, it is purification," and the like of that.
The reader: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on visiting the sick and accompanying the deceased: "From Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
No Muslim visits (the sick) Muslims in the morning, except that sevety-thousand angels, sent Salat upon him until the evening, and he does not visit at night except that seventy thousand angels sent Salat upon him until the morning, and there will be a garden for him in Paradise.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 969Da'if (Darussalam)
Al-Tirmidhi narrated it and said: It is a good hadith. And from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: A Jewish boy was serving the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He fell ill, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him. He sat at his head and said to him:
He embraced Islam
The boy looked at his father who was with him and said: Obey Abu al-Qasim. So he became a Muslim. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out saying:
Praises be to Allah Who saved the boy from the Hell-fire.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1356
Al-Bukhari narrated it."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted in his book *Riyad al-Salihin*, in the chapter on visiting the sick and accompanying the deceased, that Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
No Muslim visits (the sick) Muslims in the morning, except that sevety-thousand angels, sent Salat upon him until the evening
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 969Da'if (Darussalam)
And also
And if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels pray for him until the morning, and he will be in the harvest of Paradise.
This hadith has a corroborating narration from what was mentioned previously: that when a person visits his brother, he is in the harvest of Paradise, meaning in its fruit. As for the angels seeking forgiveness for him, there is consideration regarding this, because the favor of Allah is vast. However, one of the rules of weak hadiths among the scholars is the abundance of reward for a very small deed.
