Is gnawing and picking the bones considered a custom, since some people find it disgusting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is gnawing something that custom rejects if people find it disgusting?

The Shaykh : No, they do not find it disgusting. There are people now who find it disgusting for a person to lick his fingers. No, we cannot leave this; it is from the actions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). If you find it disgusting and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did it, that might lead to the conclusion that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did something disgusting.

The questioner : It might be said that this is not an act of worship.

The Shaykh : Even if it is not an act of worship, it is something the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did, so we should not find it disgusting, whatever the case may be. Then we say regarding licking the fingers: the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) also commanded it. When he commanded licking the plate, he said:
You do not know in what portion of your food the blessing lies لا تدرون في أي طعامكم البركة
Sahih Muslim 2034
No, do not wipe it off or be concerned about it. Yes.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : We do not say, "Do not eat it," because if we find something the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did to be disgusting, and if someone said, "I find it disgusting to follow the Prophet," we would say that is wrong. Yes.
