The reciter: Qutaybah narrated to us, and Isma'il ibn Ja'far narrated to us from Amr ibn Abi Amr, the client of al-Mut'ib ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Hanatib, that he heard Anas ibn Malik say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abu Talhah:
"Seek out a boy from among your boys to serve me." So Abu Talhah took me out, riding me behind him, and I served the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) whenever he stopped. I would hear him frequently say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debt, and being overpowered by men." I continued to serve him until we returned from Khaybar, and he returned with Safiyyah bint Huyayy, whom he had taken captive. I saw him covering her behind him with a cloak or a garment, then riding her behind him. When we reached al-Sahba', he prepared a mixture of dates, barley, and butter in a mat, then sent me to call the men, and they ate. That was his celebration of his marriage to her. Then he proceeded until al-Hudaybiyah appeared to him, and he said, "This is a mountain that loves us and we love it." When he looked down upon al-Madinah, he said: "O Allah, I make sacred what is between its two mountains, just as Ibrahim made Makkah sacred. O Allah, bless them in their mud and their sa'."
