What is the ruling on using the mushaf as a sutrah for the one praying?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, regarding using the mushaf as a sutrah in the mosque, especially if the pillars are far from the person in his place of prayer, or the wall, is there any disrespect to the mushaf, or is it permissible?

The Shaykh : Yes, first of all, may Allah reward you. You must know that the sutrah is not obligatory; it is a recommended practice (sunnah), not obligatory, so there is no need to go to this extent.
And secondly: it is not permissible to make the mushaf a sutrah for you, because this is using the mushaf for something other than what it was placed for. A person must respect and honor the mushaf. Similarly, in our view, these people who, when they are tired and there is a wait, record the Qur'an—we do not see this as ever being used for waiting. Also, the one who hears it might be a non-Muslim, or might be someone else. So if you want to wait, make a recording of wisdom from the sayings of wisdom or something similar, or let it be silent until you connect. Yes, and here this meeting ends, and until another meeting, if Allah wills, on a day like this. We ask Allah to grant us and you beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
