Ruling on buying a commodity and offering it for sale in the place where it was bought

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:

His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—may Allah grant him understanding.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
I inform your Eminence that I have a maternal cousin—my wife’s sister—who appointed me in her place without a legal agency, and I buy cars for her from one of the showrooms, reserve them in a section of the showroom, and receive the customs papers and their keys, or I buy land plots for her. Then, I offer them to my brothers, one of my colleagues, or a neighbor, or if I am in need, I buy them myself.
So, if I want to sell them to my brothers, one of them contacts her and negotiates with her on the deferred price, and then the sale is completed for them.
And if I want to buy them myself, I contact her likewise and negotiate with her on the deferred price. And if the buyer is someone other than me or my brothers, I negotiate with her on the deferred price, and then I sell them to him.
Therefore, I ask your Eminence to issue a ruling on this matter so that I may be clear about my affair. May Allah reward you with the best reward for me and for the Muslims.

Answer:
And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
We advise you to take a written legal agency from her, and not to sell cars and the like of movable property until they are moved from the place of sale to another showroom, or to your house; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
forbade to sell the goods where they are bought until the tradesmen take them to their housesنهى أن تباع السلع حيث تبتاع حتى يحوزها التجار إلى رحالهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 3499Hasan li ghairih (Al-Albani)
, and may Allah guide them all.
