What is the ruling on returning the greeting to a neighbor of mine who is an Ismaili Rafidi?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I have a neighbor who is an Ismaili who greets me. Am I allowed to return his greeting?

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Am I allowed to greet him?

The Shaykh : Return his greeting, treat them as they treat you, and call them to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because a person is responsible for calling to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and the neighbor is the most deserving of being called to Allah. So you should call him to Allah, either by inviting him to visit you or by visiting him yourself and calling him to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and clarifying the truth for him. A person is, by his innate disposition, inclined toward the truth, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Every child is born with a true faith of Islam (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) and his parents convert him to Judaism or Christianity or Magianism كلّ مولود يولد على الفطرة فأبواه يهوّدانه أو ينصّرانه أو يمجّسانه
Sahih al-Bukhari 1385
