Returning the greeting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 10489 )
Q2: Whatis the ruling on one who is greeted with the Islamic greeting and does not return it to you, and I would like to repeat initiating the greeting to him every time I meet him or enter his home, while he is determined not to return the greeting
A2: It should be widespread among Muslims to exchange greetings so that the bonds of love and affection are strengthened. It is not permissible for a Muslim to boycott his Muslim brother for more than three days; if he does so, he is sinful and has committed a disobedience, and it is obligatory for him to seek forgiveness and repent to Allah the Exalted. Refusing to return the greeting to a Muslim without a legitimate Shari'ah excuse is boycotting him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
