If wealth reaches the nisab and then increases gradually, how is the zakah calculated?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His EminenceThe Shaykh : A man has wealth that reached the nisab, approximately ten thousand riyals, for example, in the first of Muharram. Then, in Ramadan, he received another amount of approximately ten thousand riyals, and also in Dhul-Hijjah, another ten thousand riyals. Has the lunar year passed?

The Shaykh : The total is thirty thousand.

The questioner : Does he pay zakah on the thirty thousand or on the first ten thousand?

The Shaykh : Are the ten thousand that arrived in Ramadan and the ten thousand in Dhul-Hijjah the profit from the first ten thousand?

The questioner : For example, an inheritance or something else.

The Shaykh : Well, regarding the start of ownership, each ten thousand has its own lunar year. The first ten thousand that he owned in Muharram, he pays zakah on it when Muharram comes. The one he owned in Ramadan, he pays zakah on it when Ramadan comes. And the one in Dhul-Hijjah, he pays zakah on it when Dhul-Hijjah comes. If he wishes to pay zakah on all of it together with the Muharram portion, meaning as soon as the zakah becomes due on his wealth, and this is an early payment so that the zakah on his wealth is done in one way, there is no harm in that.
