If the one who joins the prayer late makes a mistake, and the imam before him also makes a mistake, is the imam's prostration sufficient?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. If the one who joins the prayer late makes a mistake along with his imam.

The Shaykh : If so.

The questioner : If the one who joins the prayer late makes a mistake, if the one who joins the prayer late makes a mistake along with his imam.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And he prostrated with his imam, so is this prostration sufficient for him, or is it obligatory for him to prostrate again when he concludes the prayer?

The Shaykh : No, he must prostrate. If the one praying behind the imam, who is late in joining, makes a mistake with the imam and prostrates with the imam for the prostration of forgetfulness, it is obligatory for him to prostrate for himself at the end of his prayer, because his first prostration was only for following the imam, so he must repeat the prostration.
And with this, this session ends. We remain to consult you: should we continue this session despite the presence of exams? Yes, we continue. Good, if Allah wills. The meeting is postponed to next Thursday, if Allah wills. Glory be to You, O our Lord, and praise be to You. We testify that there is no god but You. We seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance. And may Allah reward you with good.
