Reading a research paper on reconciling the previous hadiths of Ibn 'Umar and Jabir (may Allah be pleased with them) regarding the shrouding of 'Abd Allah ibn Abi, with a comment by the Shaykh

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: ... and he dressed him in his shirt ... only Allah knows ... (peace and blessings be upon him) dressed him in his shirt ... and the aforementioned 'Abd Allah ... al-'Abbas a shirt, and they think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dressed 'Abd Allah in his shirt as a reward for what he did, meaning with his uncle, so he rewarded him with something of the same kind as his action.

The Shaykh : Yes, this is just the reasoning, meaning why he dressed him, and the reasoning for why he dressed him appears to me to involve three matters:
The first matter: reward, because al-'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was large in build and was with the captives, and no garment was found sufficient for him except the garment of 'Abd Allah ibn Abi, because he was large and heavy, so he gave them his garment, so this is a matter of reward.
The second: it is a matter of not letting people say that Muhammad kills his companions, and as long as there is no prohibition mentioned in the matter, he is free.
The third thing: to reconcile his son (may Allah be pleased with him), because his son was among the best of the Companions, and he had asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for that, and it was the custom of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he did not turn away a petitioner unless it was a sin, and the sin here was not established because he was not prohibited from it.
The fourth: to reconcile his people, because the man was noble among his people and a leader among his people, and the Khazraj, as you know, are the largest and greatest of the tribes of the Ansar and the most severe against the enemy, so for this reason the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) answered his son 'Abd Allah and shrouded him in his shirt and blew his saliva into him and prayed for him and also prayed over him. For these four reasons, and perhaps there are others, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did what he did with this hypocritical man. But the problem now is how we reconcile the hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar and the hadith of Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah. Yes. Who wants to research?

The questioner : ... mentioned ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... Ahmad, meaning that the son recanted from ... , he came ... .

The Shaykh : That does not contradict. Verify it for us, you.

The questioner : If you please ... .

The Shaykh : Them.
The questioner: Does the "wa" (and) here not imply sequence?

The Shaykh : It is not for the sake of sequence.
The questioner: ... that after ..

The Shaykh : But the story is ordered, the "wa" (and) does not imply sequence and does not prevent sequence. In any case, is there no one?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, good, I will try, if Allah wills, to review, if Allah wills. I will try to review.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Very well.

The questioner : Shaykh ... .

The Shaykh : There is a possibility, but we cannot, if we find something other than this, it is more beloved to us. Yes. Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Review the tapes and bring us the summary.

The questioner : No .. we mentioned this at the beginning.

The Shaykh : Which one?

The questioner : You mentioned that it means from the perspective of reconciling with his son and that ..

The Shaykh : No, no, no, it is not a problem how the Messenger gave him the shirt and prayed over him, we mentioned four aspects in it now, but the problem is reconciling the hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar and the hadith of Jabir.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Because their apparent meaning is contradictory, and the story is one story, there is nothing except the multiplication of shirts, and this is also something of a stretch, there is something of a stretch in it. Yes.
