Continuation of the benefits of the hadith: (… He said: “Go and seek, even if it is a ring of iron…”)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, the important point is that this authentic hadith indicates the permissibility of wearing an iron ring. And since the hadith that appears to prohibit it is weak, the original state remains as it was, and this authentic hadith is applied according to its indication.
So we have two principles. The first principle is that the original ruling for all metals is permissibility, except for what evidence has established as prohibited. The second is that this hadith is authentic. If this had been a gold ring, we might have said that it is permissible for some people and forbidden for others; if a man gives it to a woman to wear, it becomes lawful, and if he gives it to a man to wear, it becomes forbidden. However, the apparent meaning of the hadith that warns against an iron ring includes both men and women. If that were the case, what would be its benefit? The correct view is that the answer mentioned by Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) is weak, and that the iron ring was requested from him only to benefit from its value, because whatever the matter, its outcome will be the permissibility of wearing iron. Yes. Yes.
