How to reconcile the two hadiths, the first of which states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted wearing an iron ring

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Your Eminence, the hadith of Abdullah ibn Buraydah from his father, in which he said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a ring on his hand made of ... He said:
Why do I smell the scent of idols from you?! ما لي أشمُّ منك ريح الأصنام ؟!
. So he threw it away. Then he came with an iron ring on his hand, and he said:
Why do I find on you the adornment of the people of the Fire?! ما لي أجد عليك حلية أهل النار ؟!
, so he threw it away. He said: What should I make it from, O Messenger of Allah? He said:
Of silver من وَرِق
. This is the hadith, the other hadith.

The Shaykh: Of silver, yes, silver.

The questioner: Of silver, yes.
The other hadith narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, in which a man came to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) from Bahrain, and at the end of the hadith he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
A ring of iron or silver or brass اتَّخذ حلقةً من حديد أو وَرِق أو ...
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5206Hasan (Darussalam)
.

The Shaykh: Yes, both hadiths are weak and not authentic. In the first hadith, after he ordered him to make a ring of silver, he said: "And do not exceed one mithqal," or as it came in the hadith. This specific hadith, and I think the second one as well, is what I discussed regarding their chains of narration in my book "The Etiquette of Hijab in the Pure Sunnah"; where I mentioned there that wearing a ring of silver.

Another questioner: "The Etiquette of the Wedding," O Shaykh.

The Shaykh: "The Etiquette of the Wedding," what did I say?

Another questioner: The Etiquette of Hijab.

The Shaykh : Yes.

Another questioner: The Etiquette of Hijab.

The Shaykh: "The Etiquette of the Wedding," I made a mistake.
So I had mentioned there, with some explanation, the weakness of these two hadiths on the occasion of discussing the gold ring, which many young men wear when they are engaged. So we pointed out that it is forbidden for men by consensus, while for women the matter is disputed, and the stronger view is that it is also forbidden for them. Then the topic progressed, and we mentioned that a silver ring is permissible, and that its weight is not considered, as came in this hadith of Abdullah ibn Buraydah from his father.
And the other hadith is also like that, but it is necessary to point out, as we did there, because it came in some authentic hadiths from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibiting wearing a ring of brass or copper, as well as an iron ring. This is contrary to what is in the minds of many people, that the prohibition is only specific to the gold ring, while anything else of silver, copper, or iron is a permissible matter. The correct view is that silver is permissible without doubt, but a copper ring and an iron ring are not permissible. And in some narrations, the reason for prohibiting wearing an iron ring is given as
It is the adornment of the people of the Fire إنه حلية أهل النار
. So this prohibition is established in some hadiths, and I had mentioned some of them in the previously mentioned book, which is "The Etiquette of the Wedding in the Pure Sunnah."
Other than that?
That is it, your turn is over.
Please proceed.
