Benefits of the Hadith: (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married a man to a woman with an iron ring as the mahr).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : It is derived from this hadith: the permissibility of a small mahr, because an iron ring is a small amount.
It is also derived from it: the permissibility of wearing iron, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only permitted the ring to be of iron as a mahr so that it would be worn and used as adornment.
It also contains an indication of the weakening of the hadith prohibiting adornment with iron, and the reasoning for this is that it is the adornment of the people of the Fire. For this reason, some of the meticulous scholars ruled that the hadith prohibiting wearing an iron ring is anomalous, because it contradicts what is stronger.
If someone were to say: What we have with us is that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted an iron ring, and it may be worn or it may not be worn?
We say: It is not possible to make a ring in order to throw it on the ground and not wear it; it must be worn.
"And from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The mahr should not be less than ten dirhams. Al-Daraqutni narrated it as mawquf, and there is a discussion regarding its chain."
Yes, this hadith is mawquf upon 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and 'Ali is one of the Rightly Guided Caliphs whose words are taken and whose guidance is followed, but the hadith is not authentic because it contains a narrator who fabricates hadiths.
