Benefits of the Hadith: (Indeed, this wealth is green and sweet)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This contains evidence of the generosity of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Part of his generosity was that he was not asked for anything in Islam but he gave it to them (peace and blessings be upon him).
It also contains evidence of the warning against coveting wealth. If a person takes it with a desire for it, it will not be blessed for him. The meaning of "desire for it" is: longing for it, let alone asking for it. As for the one to whom it comes without a desire for it and without asking, it will be blessed for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab:
out of this wealth which comes to you without your being avaricious and without begging ما جاءك من هذا المال وأنت غير مشرف ولا سائل فخذه
Sahih Muslim 1045a
This means the absence of two things: coveting, which is longing, and asking. So take it, and what does not come to you, do not let your soul follow it. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke the truth when he said that the one who covets wealth and asks for it is like one who eats and is not filled. Then the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) explained that this one’s hand is the lower hand, so he said:
and a giving hand is better than a taking one واليد العليا خير من اليد السفلى
Sahih al-Bukhari 5355
The upper hand is the hand of the giver, and the lower hand is the hand of the taker. This is because the hand of the giver comes from above to place the dirham and the dinar in the hand of whom?
The reader: The taker.

The Shaykh : In the hand of the taker. So the taker’s hand is the lower one, and the giver’s hand is the upper one.
