The Reciter: Yahya ibn Bukayr narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us from Khalid from Sa'id ibn Abi Hilal from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 6520 So a man from the Jews came and said: "May the Most Merciful bless you, O Abu al-Qasim. Shall I inform you of the provision of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection?" He said: He said: "The earth will become a single loaf of bread, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at us and then laughed until his molars were visible, and then he said: "Shall I inform you of their side dish?" He said: "Their side dish is the Balam and the Nun." They said: "What is that?" He said: "A bull and a Nun. Seventy thousand will eat from the excess of their livers."
The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar. This says: The earth will become a single loaf of bread on the Day of Resurrection, because in this world it is a single sphere. In the Hereafter, it will become a single loaf, meaning it will be spread out, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Inshiqaq 84:1-4] When the earth is spread out, meaning on the Day of Resurrection, it will be spread out. As for now, it is flat and not spread out, because of its vastness, we do not perceive its roundness. At that time, it will be a surface that a person sees, and it will appear to be a surface, and in reality it is spherical, but on the Day of Resurrection it will be spread out, becoming like a loaf of bread, which the Mighty One, Mighty and Majestic, and He is Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, will turn over in His hand, just as one of you turns over his loaf on a journey, as a provision for the people of Paradise, meaning hospitality, it will be hospitality for the people of Paradise. And this is from the power of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. This earth, which is now clay, sand, and other things, will become one of the best foods on the Day of Resurrection, indeed, one of the foods like which we have not seen, containing what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has not entered the heart of any human. This will be a provision for the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection. So a man from the Jews came and said, "May Allah bless you, O Abu al-Qasim."
The Reciter: The Most Merciful.
The Shaykh : Yes, May the Most Merciful bless you, O Abu al-Qasim. And I do not know why he did not say "Peace be upon you," unless this Jew was present and listening, so Allah knows best. He said, "Shall I inform you of the provision of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection?" He said: He said: "The earth will become a single loaf of bread, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at the Companions and then laughed until his molars were visible. He laughed with joy at what this scholar, this Jewish man, testified to. He did not need this scholar, or this Jew, to testify for him, but there is no doubt that if a man from the People of the Book comes and narrates what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated, there is no doubt that this strengthens it. For this reason, Allah said to him: [Yunus 10:94] And Allah the Exalted said: [Ar-Ra'd 13:43] And a person is certainly happy with what others testify to for him, especially if it is his opponent, like the Jew. For it is said: "The truth is what the enemies have testified to" So when this Jew came and spoke about what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about, that was support for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and testimony that what he informed about regarding the knowledge of the unseen is the truth.
The (planet of) earth will be a bread on the Day of Resurrection, and The resistible (Allah) will topple turn it with His Hand like anyone of you topple turns a bread with his hands while (preparing the bread) for a journey, and that bread will be the entertainment for the people of Paradise.
تكون الأرض يوم القيامة خبزةً واحدةً يتكفؤها الجبار بيده كما يكفأ أحدكم خبزته في السفر نزلاً لأهل الجنةYes
