The Shaykh : As for the last narration from al-Tirmidhi’s narration, which he graded as good, from the hadith of
Abu Umamah, who said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2359Sahih (Darussalam)
meaning that they did not have any leftover bread, and it was not wheat bread or fine wheat bread, but rather barley bread.
Today, in most homes, you find that whatever bread there is, it is not barley bread, even though they have spoiled it for us in these days. And yet, it is better than barley bread. Despite that, we see it thrown in the trash, in the garbage. Where is the life we are living now compared to the life of the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his household, where nothing remained over from their barley bread for them to eat the next day? Allah is the Greatest!
The hadith that follows, number twelve, is also a blank space.
