Continuation of the explanation of the hadith from the statement of 'Umar: "Indeed, Allah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with the truth and revealed to him the Book, and among what Allah revealed was the verse of stoning"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned, and we stoned after him". He (may Allah be pleased with him) clarified that the verse was revealed, that it was read, that it was understood, that it was memorized, and that it was kept alive by acting upon it: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned, and it was not abrogated, as indicated by his statement: "and we stoned after him". If the ruling is established until the death of the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him), there is no abrogation. All of this is from the category of emphasis, may Allah be pleased with him, and may He reward him well for the Ummah of Muhammad. He said: "I fear that if time passes for people". Now we know this declaration he made; he said it on the pulpit and all the Muslims were with him, and no one objected to it. So the verse is established. But what is the wording of the verse that was revealed? It was mentioned that its wording is: "The old man and the old woman, if they commit zina, stone them both, a punishment from Allah, and Allah is Mighty, Wise." But this wording does not match the ruling, because it ties stoning to old age, whereas stoning is tied to being married, even if one is young. The married person is stoned even if young, and the virgin is not stoned even if old. So this wording does not apply to the ruling. Then, the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) said:
Receive from me (this revelation), receive from me (this revelation). Allah has ordained a way for those women (unmarried females who committed adultery). خذوا عني خذوا عني، فقد جعل الله لهن سبيلا
Bulugh al-Maram 10:2
referring to the statement of Allah the Exalted:
confine the guilty women to houses until death takes them or Allah ordains for them [another] way. فأمسكوهن في البيوت حتى يتوفاهن الموت أو يجعل الله لهن سبيلا
[An-Nisa 4:15]
He said:
Receive my teaching, receive my teaching God has appointed a way for those women (Cf. Al-Qur'an, 4:15). When the parties are unmarried they shall receive a hundred lashes and be banished for a year when they commit fornication and when they have been married they shall receive a hundred lashes and be stoned to death. خذوا عني خذوا عني فقد جعل الله لهن سبيلا: البكر بالبكر جلد مائة وتغريب عام، والثيب بالثيب جلد مائة والرجم
Mishkat al-Masabih 3558
So he tied the ruling to being married, not to old age. For this reason, we say that this wording is anomalous, and it is not permissible to say that this is the verse, because there must be mass transmission (tawatur), and this, being a singular report (ahad), contradicts the authentic hadiths. The correct view is that this wording is not what was revealed, but rather another wording was revealed that matches the legal ruling, but it is not known now.
The Mu'adhdhin: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. I think we stopped at "So we entered Madinah after Dhul-Hijjah"? Meaning after, look at his statement: "So we entered Madinah after Dhul-Hijjah"?
