The reciter: Abdan narrated to us, Abdullah informed us, Yunus informed us, from al-Zuhri, Urwah informed me, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: Sahih al-Bukhari 6853
The Shaykh : This is the best guidance, and this is evidence of sincerity: that you do not take revenge for yourself, but you take revenge for your Lord, because Allah said:
If you see a man, for example, insulting you, you are commanded to be patient and endure it, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not take revenge for himself, even though the right of the Messenger is not like your right. Insulting the Messenger is disbelief, but it is part of his right during his lifetime; if he wished, he would forgive. Insulting someone other than the Messenger is not like insulting the Messenger. If someone insulted a person, you would see his neck veins bulging, his eyes turning red, his hair standing on end, and his body trembling. But if someone insulted Allah, he would say, "Look, I seek refuge in Allah," while insulting Allah, but with complete calm. Is this sincere to Allah? No. The one who is sincere to Allah is the one who is more jealous of the right of Allah than he is of his own right, and who sees that people violating the sanctities of Allah is more severe than if they violated his honor, just as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did: he did not take revenge for himself, but when the sanctities of Allah were violated, he took revenge for Allah, not for himself. We ask Allah to help us and you to adopt this character, because it is a difficult character. Yes.
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) never took revenge for his own self in any matter presented to him till Allah's limits were exceeded, in which case he would take revenge for Allah's sake.
ما انتقم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لنفسه في شيء يؤتى إليه حتى ينتهك من حرمات الله، فينتقم للهThe Shaykh : This is the best guidance, and this is evidence of sincerity: that you do not take revenge for yourself, but you take revenge for your Lord, because Allah said:
