Explanation of the Book of Fitnahs and Rulings-01a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Musaddad narrated to us from 'Abd al-Warith from al-Ja'd from Abu Rajaa from Ibn 'Abbas from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:
Whoever dislikes من كره
.

The Shaykh : This contains a continuous chain. Why? Because of the use of "from" (an'anah).

The questioner : He said:
Whoever disapproves of something done by his ruler then he should be patient, for whoever disobeys the ruler even a little (little = a span) will die as those who died in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance. من كره من أميره شيئا فليصبر فإنه من خرج من السلطان شبرا مات ميتة جاهلية
Sahih al-Bukhari 7053
.

The Shaykh : His saying:
Whoever disapproves of something done by his ruler منكره من أميره شيئا
Sahih al-Bukhari 7053
Does this mean something from the matters of religion, or something from the matters of the world, or is it general? It is general, whether it is from the matters of religion or from the matters of the world. So if you see that your ruler is drinking intoxicants, or dealing in usury or interest, or the like of that, be patient with it. But advise him; advise him to the extent you are able. If he is guided, it is for his own soul, and if he is not guided, it is upon his own soul. If you see what you dislike from him, such as his tyranny over you in your wealth, your family, your job, or the like of that, be patient.
for whoever disobeys the ruler فإن من خرج من السلطان
Sahih al-Bukhari 7053
That is, from his obedience and his right, a span.
and dies, then he has died a death of Jahiliyyah فمات مات ميتة جاهلية
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4114Sahih (Darussalam)
And whoever leaves half a span is the same, because the restriction to a span is for exaggeration. The scholars have mentioned that what is for exaggeration has no conceptual meaning, whether the exaggeration is in quantity or in smallness.
