The questioner : I saw in my dream that I had proposed to a woman, the marriage was concluded, and intercourse took place. I also saw in the dream that I performed the full ritual bath, attained ritual purity, and prayed the recommended practice of the ablution. I want to ask the following: First, am I obligated to propose to this woman, given that she has not married?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. You are not obligated to propose to this woman. Perhaps the reason for this dream of yours is that you are thinking about her. In any case, it is not obligatory for you to propose to her. If you wish, propose to her; if you do not wish, do not.

The questioner : Yes.
