Is it permissible to see Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in a dream?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Your Eminence, the Shaykh.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
Is it permissible to see Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in a dream, or is it not?

The Shaykh : I say to you, peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.
And I say that it is not part of the Sunnah to greet someone when asking a question, because the Companions would sit with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and ask him questions without a greeting. The greeting is for the one who arrives or meets someone. As for the answer to the question: seeing Allah the Exalted in this world while awake is not possible. The evidence for this is that Musa (peace be upon him), who is among the best of the messengers and one of the five resolute prophets, said to his Lord:
he said, "My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You."
[Al-A'raf 7:143]
Allah said to him:
You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me." But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level لَنْ تَرَانِي وَلَكِنِ انْظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكّاً
[Al-A'raf 7:143]
The mountain crumbled before Musa while he was watching.
And Musa fell unconscious.
He fainted, because he saw something his soul could not bear.
And when he awoke, he said, "Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers."
[Al-A'raf 7:143]
So he repented to Allah for this question, because it was a question about what is impossible, and asking Allah for what is impossible is transgression in supplication. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.
[Al-A'raf 7:55]
So he repented to Allah. Therefore, seeing Allah in this world is not possible while awake. Even the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see his Lord on the night of the Mi'raj. He was asked, "Did you see your Lord?" He said:
I saw a light
And in another wording:
Light. How could I see Him? !
meaning: there are great veils of light between me and Him. It is reported in the authentic hadith that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is veiled by light, so He said:
His veil is light. If He were to remove it, the radiance of His Face would burn those of His creation whose vision reaches Him.
meaning: His radiance and greatness. If this light between Him and the creation were revealed, all the creation would burn, because His vision reaches everything, and everything would burn with this great light.
And based on this, we say: it is not possible.
As for in a dream, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) saw his Lord in a dream. But is it possible for others to see Him? It is mentioned that Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) saw his Lord, and some scholars mentioned that this is possible. So Allah knows best. I do not know.
And I fear that if this door is opened, the Sufi sheikhs and others will come in and say, "Last night I saw my Lord, and I sat with Him, and we chatted and discussed." Then they will bring out all kinds of nonsense that has no basis. So I think that closing this door is better. Yes.
