What is the ruling on what the People of the Book consider slaughter in their religion?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh... Is it required that their slaughter be according to the Islamic method?

The Shaykh : There are two views among the scholars on this, and may Allah reward you for this question, because some people are extremely strict regarding the food of the People of the Book. Some scholars say: whatever the People of the Book consider food, it is food, even if they slaughter it by cutting the belly, or if they do not drain the blood, or if they kill it by strangulation, as long as they believe it to be food for them. Allah says:
the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you طعام الذين أوتوا الكتاب حل لكم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:5]
, so He attributed the food to them; therefore, whatever they believe to be lawful food is lawful for you. This is one of the two views in the madhhab of Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him), and there must be another disagreement. The second view is that the act must be in accordance with the Shari'ah, due to the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
(Use) whatever causes the blood to flow, mention the Name of Allah and eat ما أنهر الدم وذكر اسم الله عليه فكل
Sunan Ibn Majah 3178Sahih (Darussalam)
.
And because he prohibited the "sharita" of Satan, which is an animal that is slaughtered without its jugular veins being cut. Yes, but what I see is that the blood must be drained, the blood must be drained in the prescribed manner. Yes, because if it is the food of the believers, the blood must be drained and it must be in the prescribed manner, so these people are all the more so.
