All right, this is the correct view, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some scholars hold that if they believe it to be lawful, then it is lawful for us, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted: Meaning, whatever they consider to be food is lawful for us. If they believe that this is the obligatory method for reaching the point of eating this slaughtered animal, it becomes food for them. And Allah the Exalted said: But the correct view is the opposite. We say this because this general statement is qualified by the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Also, because if this condition is required of the Muslim, who is of a higher rank than the People of the Book, then requiring it of the People of the Book is all the more necessary. And because its prohibition is due to a defect in the meat itself, not a defect in the one who slaughtered it. What is the defect in it? The impurity of the blood pooling and not coming out. There is no difference in this whether the one slaughtering is a Muslim or a Person of the Book. These three points indicate that the opinion that what they consider to be a valid slaughter is lawful for us, even if it is not according to the Islamic legal slaughter, is a weak opinion.
