Benefits of the Hadith: (… Aisha narrated that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had a mat, and he would enclose it at night and pray in it …).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the first hadith, the first wording indicates the permissibility of the imam enclosing a space for himself in the mosque. However, it was previously mentioned that he made a *hujayrah* (a diminutive of *hujrah*, meaning a small room), which indicates that he made a room only the size of his prayer. But this is specific to the imam; others may not do so, except for a reason such as i'tikaf (spiritual retreat in the mosque), on the condition that they do not restrict the space for the worshippers.
In the first hadith, the first wording is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
perform such acts as you are capable of doing عليكم من الأعمال ما تُطيقون
Sahih Muslim 782a
This means: Stick to what you are able to do, and as for what you are not able to do and which burdens you, do not do it.
