The reciter: And Muhammad ibn Hatim narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, saying: Ibn Jurayj informed us, saying: 'Abdah ibn Abi Lubabah narrated to me from Shuqayq ibn Salamah, who said: I heard Ibn Mas'ud say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Wretched is the man who says: I forgot such and such a sura, or I forget such and such a verse, but he has been made to forget. بئسما للرجل أن يقول: نسيت سورة كيت وكيت أو نسيت ءاية كيت وكيت بل هو نسّي
